Additions & Renovations at Multiple Schools
School District: Holmdel Public Schools, Holmdel, Monmouth County, NJ
Schiller and Hersh Associates, as sub-consultant to Spiezle Architectural Group, provided all the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design services and construction support for the additions and renovations project.
Scope of Work: Multi-phased project that consists of significant renovations in the existing ~200,000 SF Middle School and High School and new additions including:
- HVAC Replacement at the High School Gym.
- High School Auditorium upgrades including replacement of rigging motors and stage lighting dimming racks
- New link construction with toilet rooms from the MS administration addition to the existing gym.
- Renovations to the High School Shop Wing for Graphics, TV Studio and Engineering instruction spaces.
- Renovations in the High School Media Center to expand into TV Studio..
- New physical education addition with lockers and team rooms.
- HVAC and Lighting Renovations to the High School Music Room
- Addition of 2 Science Classrooms, New Main Office and Entrance in the Satz Middle School
- Convert four science rooms into two science labs and prep rooms
- Locker room renovations in the Middle School
MEPFP Scope included:
- New DOAS, VRF and RTU systems for HVAC, including new web-based HVAC DDC control systems.
- New lighting, lighting controls, emergency power, power, fire alarm, IT structured cabling and low-voltage systems.
- New plumbing systems, including domestic water piping, automatic sensor operated plumbing fixtures and sanitary piping systems.
- Partial sprinkler systems.
- MEP phasing and sequencing design to allow for phased construction and continued occupancy of the school buildings.
