General: Renovations to the existing combined Police and Public Works Building into a state-of-the-art Police Building with offices, conference rooms, squad room, dispatch room, processing room, (2) sally car ports and a secure holding zone with adult and juvenile cells. A new public works 4-bay garage was designed for a separate public works site to move the functions from the old combined police/public works building.
Mechanical Design: Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat pump system with roof top Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS) units for mechanical ventilation air and 100% outside air make up air units and exhaust fans for the secure zone. The design also included a web-based DDC control system. For the public works building, make up air and exhaust fans were provided along with gas-fired unit heaters.
Electrical Design: New 800A secondary utility service for the building from PECO, full 175kW diesel-fired backup generator for the Police building, site lighting & controls, high efficiency LED lighting with controls, fully addressable fire alarm system, A/V systems, CCTV system, card access system, IT structured cabling systems, and fiber optic cabling systems for the incoming and internal building systems.
Plumbing Design: Automatic flush plumbing fixtures, low-flow plumbing fixtures, high efficiency water heater, basement ejector system and domestic plumbing systems.
Fire Protection Design: Fully suppressed building.
