Schiller and Hersh designed, as sub-consultant to several local engineering firms, multiple Electrical and Mechanical Projects under consecutive open end contracts at the Philadelphia International Airport. Even though S&H was a sub-consultant, we acted as the prime professional and engineer of record for each of the projects listed below – our prime firm’s acted as a pass-thru for the contracts.
The project included (6) new 4,000A, 208V double ended switchgear lineups in B, C and D Terminals including integration with the airport-wide SCADA system.
The project included the installation of a new 2000kW (2MW) diesel generator, fully integrated into the existing 3.2MW paralleling generation system at the main terminal substation. Also included, was the generator PLC control system upgrade and compressed air starting systems for the existing two 1.6MW generators.
